Cornell Construction

Hardy Road, Brantford, ON


Lanca was hired on as the Project Manager for the 10,000 sq ft head office for Cornell Construction and Canadian Shield. Design work began in late 2010 and Lanca liasoned with consultants and city staff to help expedite the permitting process. The building consists of a Robertson Pre-Engineered Building system complete with a galvanized standing seam roof and upgraded R values. Creative use of EIFS, tinted reflective glazing and stone veneer will make this building a show piece for the client.





UniFirst Canada Ltd.

2290 Dunwin Drive, Mississauga, ON


Lanca is performing a design-build service for one of North America's largest uniform companies in an effort to reconfigure their waste water system and provide additional working and storage space. The existing loading docks are to be reorganized to provide semi-automatic dock levers and additional dock space. Future growth on the site was a major concern to address in the final design of the site. The additions will utilize the Robertson pre-engineered building and precast concrete mezzanines bearing on coloured architectural concrete block.

The facility in Port Dover is in need of seventeen sun shades as detailed by R.J. Burnside Engineer. Lanca was hired to fabricate and install the sun shades to keep direct sun and weather off of the solar invertors and transformers. This will allow for increased efficiency in power conversion.

Lanca's Design/Build proposal was accepted to construct the replacement building for this two store office and Manufacturing facility. The structure is a Robertson Pre-Engineered Building with an office facade of stucco, Alcubond, Algonquin limestone and butt joint glazing.

The 6,000 sq ft addition was don e to a newly acquired facility to accommodate a 10 ton crane bay. Work also included exterior concrete pads, parking area and the renovation of the existing plant area.






Madok Manufacturing

Morrell Street, Brantford, ON


Located on Morrell Street in Brantford, Lanca is working with Madok Manufacturing to facilitate a 1.4 million dollar, 26,000 sq ft renovation. This design/build is for a new manufacturing facility that is an energy efficient green building. Some details include R21 insulated Kingspan panels, T5 lighting throughout, high efficiency HVAC system, heat recovery and air exchange, daylight harvesting and rainwater harvesting. The project also includes two 3 ton cranes, a sprinkler system and exterior canopy and loading docks.






J.P. Bowman Limited, Phase 2

Design and construction of a 40,700 sqft industrial addition consisting of a two level upscale office area and a 30,000 sqft pre-engineered production facility.

The building is a pre-engineered single slope with stucco and architectural concrete block facade. Millfab Industires

477 Ofield Road, Dundas, ON


Working with Tacoma Engineering, this 6,000 sq ft pre engineered building is an addition to a 2004 structure built by Lanca. The new addition will have a 5 tonne crane, translucent light panels with an interior liner, fire protection tanks and additional parking to facilities.






Blastech Corporation

57 Old Onondaga Road, Brantford, ON


This three quarter million dollar, pre-engineered 12,000 sq ft building will house the compressor facilities complete with a climate control system. Renovations also include two building additions complete with two crane runways for class D crane systems and large overhead doors.






Haggerty Industrial Condominiums Phase I & II

20 Roy Blvd., Brantford ON


Lanca was awarded the contract for the design and construction of these Industrial Condos. The two projects total over 87,400 sq. ft. and construction consists of conventional steel structure, built up roofing system, and stucco facade exterior in combination with aluminum glazing.

This 27,700 square foot Industrial Mall is a Robertson Pre-Engineered building with unit sizes of 3,450 square foot. The building is a 20' eave height with the front stucco complete with commercial windows and entrances. There is a 12' x14' overhead door with loading dock and leveller in each unit. It has a minimum 100 Amp/600 Volt sub service. The parking lot is paved at the front with reclaimed asphalt in the shipping and receiving areas.

This is a new 50,000 sq.ft. head office and manufacturing/warehouse facility. This is a Robertson pre-engineered building with 18' eave height, 5 span framing and standing seam roof with interior liner. The office area is 4,000 sq.ft. conventional construction, architectural block with pre-finished metal canopy. It consists of Duranar finished aluminum windows and tinted glazing.






Nick Rizzo

Brantford, Ontario


Lanca Contracting won this contract for the new home of BML Multi Trades. They will lease these new premises from Nick Rizzo to be located at the end of Ryan Place, Brantford. This 20,000 sqft pre-engineered office/production facility will be BML's new head office. The building will consist of a 2 storey office with stucco exterior finish and aluminum framed glazing.






Rothsay Recycles (div. of Maple Leaf Foods)

Hwy # 5, Dundas


16,000 sq.ft. Trailer storage building.
Lanca was hired to provide the design/build service for this project consisting of a Robertson pre-engineered building supported by 25' steel pile construction below grade to bedrock.
Building is complete with insulated walls and pre-finished metal liner.






Oakrun Farm Bakery Warehouse

58 Carluke Road W., Ancaster, ON


Contract Price $2,100,000.00 plus mech/elec work - 21,000 sq.ft. 10E freezer, 2,400 sq.ft. Loading dock. The project was executed as design-build by Lanca Contracting. The freezer walls consist of 10" Zer-O-Loc wall panels and the roof has an R40 roof system. The four(4) door loading dock addition is complete with standup dock levellers, inflatable dock seals, and truck restraints. Offices, lunchroom and mechanical room will be constructed above dock area. In early 2008, Lanca completed a 3200 sq. ft. addition. This project is a steel structure complete with metal siding. It has a 4 ply built up roof, concrete slab on grade with machine bases. The space is completed with plumbing, heating and air conditioning.

this 7,500 sq ft addition consisted of remodelling the existing facilities to provide an office and warehouse addition for a production/staging area. The addition consists of block and stucco finish on the exterior complete with structural steel roof construction and 4 ply built up roofing.






Keith's Walking Floors International

This is a 22,600 sq ft, 1.8 million dollar design - build project. The facility consists of a pre-engineered structure for the plant area and conventional office construction, the 30? high plant houses two 5 ton cranes. The office includes a lunchroom, washrooms, change rooms, reception, board room and private offices. The exterior is dressed with paved parking and a professional landscaping design.

Canweld Metal Products Inc. selected Lanca Contracting to design and construct their new 26,650 sqft industrial facility. The building consists of an attractive colored architectural block office area facing the street. The production area will house two 5 Ton crane bays running the entire length of the building.

Swiss Chalet Restaurent

The Boardwalk, Waterloo, ON


Working with Stantec Architectural, this single storey restaurant has brick, stucco and siding on the exterior. There will be structural steel framing and steel stud infill, quarry tile, flooring throughout, tile and drywall walls. There will be T-bar ceilings, and all the millwork and kitchen equipment will be supplied by Cara Foods.


Dr. Kotecha

Rest Acres Road, Paris, ON


Working with plans and specs prepared by Professional Design Solutions, Lanca will facilitate the leasehold improvements for the new dentist office in an existing plaza. Construction will consist of new drywall partitions, new ceilings and bulkheads, flooring, millwork, vinyl wall coverings and painting.


Echo Bowl

Brantford, ON


This design build project will create a more modern appeal to the outdated original building as well as offer greater ease of access with the new entrance ramp. The new exterior "face lift" will consist of architectural metal wall panels and EIFS (stucco) wall build outs. The EIFS wall build outs will be finished with an architectural cornice on top. The project is intended to be completed in time for the bowling leagues to start back up early September.





Fort Henry Self Storage

This 30,000 sq ft Mini Storage complex has five separate self storage buildings that are prefinished metal walls and roof. There is a total of 258 rental units of various sizes. One 10,000 sq ft building is heated and air-conditioned. The office is a block structure with built up roof over steel structure with painted drywall, acoustic ceiling and porcelain tile floors. The site is completely fenced with controlled access gate, monitored security camera system. The street scape has wrought iron fence with masonry piers and will be professional landscaped.






Brantford Airport "T" Hanger

Working with J.H. Cohoon, Lanca is providing a pre-engineered building solution to provide a 11,000 sq ft airport hanger. This $400,000 project provides an additional airplane hanger which will have seven clear span hangers 15' high, bifold door 45'-9" wide, T5 energy efficient lighting throughout area.

Working with Naylor, this brand new 2,200 sq ft facility is a standard Harvey's restaurant construction with drive thru window, wood framed construction, tile walls and floor and full kitchen facilities.

In co-ordination with Stantec this 6,600 sq ft restaurant was built as the same time as the Harvey's restaurant. The new restaurant is a steel frame construction, steel stud interior, and the exterior is brick stucco and siding finish. There is seating for 200, tile walls and floors and large kitchen area.





Schuster & Associates

22 Market Street, Brantford, ON


This contract required Lanca to transform a 50-60 year old building into a modern two unit commercial plaza. Work also included creating office space for Dr. Schuster's Optometry business. With tight timing and budget restraints, Lanca successfully completed this showpiece project.



Aventix Animal

4350 Mainway Drive, Burligton, ON


Working with Professional Design Solutions, Lanca completed the 3,000 sq ft leasehold improvements to interior offices. These improvements were ceramic floors, glass wall/door partitions, drywall walls, T-bar ceiling, new exterior windows, reception area, washrooms, four private offices and a general office area.





Kayanse Greenhouse

973 Highway 54, Ohsweken, ON


A 9,000 sq ft Robertson Pre-Engineered building, two heights compete with standing seam roof panels is the new home for the Greenhouse. There is a 6,000 sq ft warehouse complete with cold room, two offices, washroom tool storage and two loading docks. The 3,000 sq ft office area is complete with a lab, lunchroom, locker room, class room three offices and storage room. The office area has drywall walls, is painted with T-bar ceiling and tile floor.





Avenue Medical Centre

221 Brant Avenue, Brantford, ON


Lanca was the successful bidder and working with MMMC Inc Architects, this 4,400 sq ft project was a complete lower level renovation to provide for expanded facilities for the OBGYN clinic. Renovations included new configurations of office layout, all new HVAc and plumbing, electrical, drop ceilings, flooring and millwork. Work was completed while the clinic maintained normal operations.






Brantford Farmers Market

71 Icomm Drive, Brantford ON


Lanca Contracting was awarded this project from the City of Brantford to renovate the current facilities at 71 Icomm Drive in Brantford. This $300,000, 10,000 sq ft renovation project will entail a new ceiling liner, lighting and heating and cooling units. There will also be new painting, doors & frames, plumbing to stalls and a new main entry way. The exterior finishes on walls - siding and block will be done to complete the transformation.






Simcoe Little Theatre

Talbolt Street, Simcoe, ON


The Simcoe Little Theatre was in need of a $500,000 renovation to create accessibility for all its patrons. Located on Talbolt Street in Simcoe, this 1,200 sq ft addition and renovation will bring them a step closer to reaching their goal. Working with G. Douglas Vallee, Lanca will provide a new main entry, ticket booth, coat check, handicap washrooms and a handicap lift that will allow all access to all floors in the new and existing facilities.






Brantford Golf & Country Club

The Golf & Country Club was in need of a new 5,000 sq ft Maintenance Building and canopy. Lanca was the successful bidder on this $626,450 project that has Lanca working with J.H. Cohoon Engineering to provide a pre-engineered building to be used for equipment repair and storage. There will also be an office and lunchroom. Inside consists of painted drywall, and VCT flooring. The work area will have exposed structure/vinyl wrapped insulation and a concrete floor.

Leasehold improvements to a Medical Plaza was done to accommodate a new Dentist?s office. Dr. Vos required 1,400 sq ft of work consisting of walls, floors, ceiling, plumbing etc. for his new Dental practice.






Agropur Distribution Centre

21 Intrepid Drive, London, ON


This $1.8 million, 14,000 sq ft pre-engineered building is a new refrigerated distribution centre for Agropur Canada. It has 4"/6" insulated panel cladding and Robertson RTS roof system. The facility will house new finished office space, dispatch areas and a driver's lounge.






Marritt Hall, Ancaster Agricultural Society

630 Trinity Road, Ancaster, ON


This five and a half million, 40,000 sq. ft. Convention Hall and Administration Offices are being developed for the new Ancaster Agricultural Society grounds at the corner of Trinity road and Wilson Street. This is a two storey building to house the administration office of the Society comprised of heavy timber construction inside the convention hall with perimeter coloured architectural block. The service areas and administration is full frame construction complete with precast second floor with a prefinished standing seam roof. There is pre finished hardi board exterior, wall finish complimented by stonework. There is also a passenger elevator to the second floor.

The construction of a new Bingo Hall will have Lanca Contracting supplying a Pre-Engineered Building complete with a 2 storey front entrance mezzanine. The exterior will be block walls and metal siding with aluminum windows.





Chin Tai Ginseng

Working with MC Engineering, this pre-engineered building will be the new home for a ginseng processing plant. The building will have metal siding on walls, front entrance canopy complete with aluminum windows, a large second storey mezzanine for offices and staff area. The ground level will house production and processing.






Millard, Rouse & Rosebrugh

Lanca Contracting will be starting this 30,000 sq.ft. 4-storey office complex. This is a full frame steel structure, pre-cast concrete floor slabs, the exterior is brick, Structural steel studs, insulation and drywall. The roof consists of wood trusses, plywood, built up roof, perimeter wood trusses to create sloped roof complete with asphalt shingles. The interior has a 2-storey entrance foyer and reception area with upgraded interior finishing.






Rendez-Vous Restaurant

Brantford's next fine dining restaurant will be "Rendez-Vous" located inside the new Brantford Civic Square phase 1 building now nearing completion. The restaurant will house a fine dining room, bar, kitchen and prep facilities. Design was provided by Allen-Chui Architects and construction is scheduled to begin in May, 2006.








Temple Building

Lanca Contracting is the Project Manager of this 23,000 sq.ft. 2nd & 3rd floor renovation with a budget of $2,000,000.00. This is an existing 3-storey complex in the downtown core with complete renovations to 2nd and 3rd floors for 25 apartments with new fire exits. The 3rd floor contains some loft apartments with vaulted ceilings. The exterior is to be finished to original Heritage appearance.

Contract Price $1,050,000.00 - 15,000 sq.ft. This design-build commercial project is an attractive office building offering three(3) 5,000 sq.ft. Units or up to six(6) 2,500 sq.ft. Units for lease. This building uses conventional steel construction, architectural block and stucco finishes. The arched aluminum windows are complete with grilles. The building is scheduled for completion in December 2005.

Fairview School

VG Architect awarded Lanca Contracting Limited this contract through tender process that provides a 4,564 ft2 addition. This project involves some minor renovations to the existing school, reworking of the exterior site and provides four additional classrooms. Exterior site work will see the parking lot redone, sidewalks and some landscape.


Ebenezer Christian Reformed Church

139B Talbot Street, Jarvis, ON


Currently running Phase 1 of a 3 phase master plan, the current renovation is to upgrade a 40 year old church to meet current fire protection systems, electrical and HVAC, new offices for staff and meeting rooms. The addition is designed to blend in and match existing Architecture to compliment the existing features.




South Cayuga Community Church

This $1,000,000 construction of a brand new home for the South Cayuga Pastoral Charge Congregation for generations to come. The new Church will be over 8,500 sq ft and will include the installation of the original pipe organ in the new facilities.






Bellview Public School

Lanca successfully bid to work with The Ventin Group with a 1,700 sq ft library addition and renovations to 4,000 sq ft of classrooms. The Owner, the Grand Erie District School Board will enjoy usage of their new facilities by August 31, 2009 in time for the new school year.






Bell Lane Group Home (Brantwood Residential)

Lanca was the successful bidder on this proposed group home designed by SRM Architect. Construction has begun and completion is scheduled for February 2009. The building will provide supervised housing for handicapped adults.








St. Basil's Rectory Renovation

50 Palace Street, Brantford ON


Lanca Contracting will be working as Project Manager with MMMC Architects to renovation of the existing Rectory will consist of demolition of a portion of the building, replacing the roof, building new walls, floors, a roof and various finishes. There will also be a remodel to the second floor for living quarters, administration offices and meeting rooms.






Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

The renovation of the existing Church consists of an additional 3,735 sq. ft. and will be wood framed walls and roof, brick and stucco on the exterior finish. Work will consist of adding a multi-purpose room and office, as well as extending the parking lot.

The renovations to this existing home consists of demolition, removal and disposal. The reconstruction of the existing space is to establish student bedrooms throughout the house and in the attic space.

Design and construction of a Pre-engineered recreational facility addition. The addition houses new offices, nursery, washroom facilities and gymnasium. The building is over 13 thousand sqft complete with a 3600 sqft precast concrete mezzanine for activity viewing.

8,000 sqft conventional school addition designed by Venerino V.P. Panici Architects Inc. Construction consists of two 4000 sqft single storey classroom additions.

Working with MC Engineering, the Simcoe Fire Hall #1 requires a 250 ft2 addition.


Mount Pleasant Firehall

A tender awarded by Venerino V.P. Panic Architectural Inc has Lanca Contracting Limited building a new two bay fire station. The facility will have 800 sq ft of upper floor area and washrooms, a locker area, office and a meeting room. The exterior of the Fire Hall will be coloured architectural block walls, and metal siding. The roof will be comprised of wood trusses complete with prefinished metal. The grounds will be complete with paved driveways and parking lot and a standby generator.





Brantford Municipal Airport - New Airport Hanger

Brantford, ON


Working with J.H. Cohoon, Lanca is providing a pre-engineered building to provide a 15,000 sq ft airport hanger. This $700,000 project provides an additional airplane hanger which will have a clear span hanger 28' high, bifold door 23'-8" by 70' wide, T5 energy efficient lighting throughout, a high efficiency HVAC system, interior walls finished with liner panel, and an office and amenity area.

Brant Park Gate House

Lanca Contracting was the successful bidder for the Grand River Conservations Authority's tender to build a new gate house for Brant Park located at 119 Jennings Rd. The building finishes consist of Architectural stone work, Vicwest metal wall and roof panels and wood siding.





Burford Community Centre and Arena Addition

14 Potters Drive, Burford, ON


Working with Group 8 Engineering, Lanca submitted the successful tender for a 6,600 sq ft expansion and extensive renovation to the existing facility. This $2.8 million project involves removing the existing hockey boards, ice and slab to make way for and new refrigeration system complete in-slab cooling and insulated rink slab. A new lift to second floor and associated entrance was completed. The addition will house new dressing rooms, referee rooms and a new main entrance for the building.






The Athletic Club

595 West Street, Brantford ON


The renovations of the 14,000 sq ft space, along with a 6,000 sq ft addition to this facility includes adding a women's only entrance and workout space, the addition of a swimming pool and squash courts and the change rooms will be remodeled and enlarged. There will also be an addition of a family change area.






New "YMCA" Facility

Contract Price $1,050,000.00 - 18,600 sq.ft. Lanca was Awarded this complete renovation to an existing "Brownfield" industrial building both inside and out. Construction consisted of all new site services, outdoor parking, new curtain wall windows with reflective glass and all interior finishes. The exterior of the building received a stucco finish. Interior layout incorporated new administration offices, change rooms, work out areas, and cardio area.

Brantford Native Housing

Working with SRM Architects, Lanca will be building a three storey apartment building with 17 apartments. The facility is wood framed with brick veneer, an elevator, in-floor heating in the lower level and is handicap accessible.





Church Conversion to Student Residence

Brantford, ON


A complete demolition of the interior of an existing Church will allow Lanca Contracting to rebuild the interior for three stories of student residence. The 20, 700 sq ft renovation will have wood construction with drywall finishes. Each unit will be self-contained with kitchens and washrooms. The exterior windows will be replaced and new electrical and water services will upgrade the facility.

This Project Management job will have Lanca working to build two (2) two storey triplex units, and adding a second storey to an existing commercial building to provide residential units to the complex. The buildings will be wood framed complete with vinyl siding and stucco; asphalt shingle roof and a common asphalt parking lot.





Medical Office Rental Units

108 St. George Street, Brantford ON


This strip mall will have four rental units being designated for medical offices/services. The 5,400 sq. ft. addition will compliment current facilities used by a local optometrist. The building is to be block and framed walls with stucco and block on the exterior. The 4 ply built up and steel framed roof will cap off the interior of drywall walls, T-bar ceilings and separate plumbing, HVAC and electrical per unit.




Triplexes/Renovations

163 Market Street, Brantford, ON


Lanca was the Construction Manager for G. K. York Management to oversee the completion of this project. It consists of three buildings. Building #1 is a second storey addition of three rental apartments. Building #2 and 3 are identical triplexes complete with paved parking and landscaped amenity space.





Brantford Civic Square Phase III

Dalhousie St. Brantford ON


This four storey commercial/residential building is aesthetically complimenting to the other two Civic Square Buildings to create an impression in the downtown core. This is a full frame structure complete with open web steel joists, a metal deck roof, and precast concrete floors. The exterior is mostly brick, with stucco accents. The four stories consist of the first floor being commercial and the second to fourth for residential.






Brantford Civic Square Phase II

Between Dalhousie Street & Colborne Street, west of Market Street, Brantford


Lanca is providing a project management service contract for this project at an estimated cost of $3,500,000.00. This new four(4) storey complex contains leasable commercial space on the ground floor for future tenants. The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors house a combination of one and two bedroom apartments with balconies. The building exterior utilizes brick, stucco and glass finishes. All new residential apartments are complete with separate hydro, heating and air conditioning services. The residential area, 2nd 3rd and 4th floors are complete.

Civic Square Phase II Sushi Bar


This 1,300 sq ft space will house an eat in/takeout Sushi Bar. The dining experience will be heightened by the porcelain tile floors, painted walls and a T-Bar ceiling with drywalled bulkheads.






Brantford Civic Square Phase I

Between Dalhousie Street & Colborne Street, west of Market Street, Brantford


Lanca is providing a project management service contract for this project at an estimated cost of $4,600,000.00. This new four(4) storey complex contains leasable commercial space on the ground floor for future tenants. The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors house a combination of one and two bedroom apartments with balconies. The building exterior utilizes brick, stucco and glass finishes. All new residential apartments are complete with separate hydro, heating and air conditioning services. Construction is underway on the east side of this lot.






Dost Student Residence

Downtown (Core) Brantford


Lanca Contracting has been awarded the contract for the design and construction of this 14,200 sqft student residence. The four story student residence is complete with main floor commercial space. The building front will consist of a combination of brick and stone. Completion is scheduled for September 2004.






Rizzo Student Residence for Wilfrid Laurier University

Colborne Street, Brantford, ON


Construction of a four storey 16,000 sqft building consisting of wood framed construction between two existing buildings in the downtown core. Exterior of building to have a combination stone, brick and stucco fascade. Interior walls and ceilings to be painted drywall. Floors to receive vinyl tile or carpet finish.
